Temporary wetlands are a unique type of ecosystem found in boreal forests.

This animation, created for educational purposes, aims to increase knowledge and awareness of the topic, by immersing the viewer in a year-round life cycle of a temporary wetland in a Finnish forest. As the pond changes through the seasons, we get a glimpse of the multitude of organisms living inside and around it.

The animation was my main contribution in the POOL project, an initiative founded by KONE Foundation.
It was presented at the Oikos-Finland 2025 Conference and displayed in a photo exhibition at the Fête de la Nature 2025 at the Abbaye de Trois-Fontaines.
